MICROCHIP IMPLANT
One of the best ways to identify your pet.
Designed by a veterinarian and about the size of a grain of rice, microchips are sterile, non-toxic, biocompatible and easily implanted. The procedure is quick and painless.
The microchip is an electric transponder contained in a capsule. A numeric code provides each implanted animal with it's own unique identification number. The microchip number can be read by a hand held scanner, the number appears on the screen of the reader.
Most animal shelters and veterinary hospitals have a scanner to read microchips should your animal become lost.
- 1 in 3 pets is lost or stolen each year in Canada
- More than 70% of those never come home
- Many lost pets are euthanized, adopted or used in research
