Our receptionists are the organizational backbone of our hospital. Apart from keeping things running smoothly and maintaining our vast medical record system, they are the voices you hear on the telephone and the smiling faces that first welcome you when you enter our hospital.
Carol joined the White Rock Veterinary Hospital in December 2000. Her hard work and dedication to the hospital has landed her the role of supervisor at the reception desk. She takes a special interest in all those important tasks that keep the hospital running smoothly. Carol shares her home with two cats, Izzy and Sid.
Shona found her niche early on in life and has spent the last 25 years working for various veterinary hospitals in the Lower Mainland. She has an interest in helping build the human-animal bond and strives to make each visit at the White Rock Veterinary Hospital a pleasant experience for both you and your pet. Shona enjoys spending time exploring Vancouver, and hitting the beaches and trails as much as possible. Shona has an orange tabby cat, Riley and new addition, Briar, an English Setter puppy.
Katherine has worked at the White Rock Veterinary Hospital since November 2005. She is a certified veterinary assistant/receptionist and received her certificate from West Coast College. She has worked at various veterinary practices over the years but has found a home here with us at the White Rock Veterinary Hospital. She lives with her two young daughters.
Halynn has always been very passionate about the well being of animals, so it didn’t take long for her to find her way into the veterinary field. She graduated from Douglas College’s veterinary assistant program in 2013, and started working at a veterinary hospital immediately after. Halynn joined the White Rock Veterinary Hospital in April 2014. She is a valued member of our team, and is very versatile as she is not only a receptionist but assists in the back of the hospital with various procedures as well. In her spare time, Halynn enjoys hiking, traveling and reading. Halynn has two rescue Chihuahua crosses, Aurora (aka Rory) and Quinn. Rory and Quinn are mother and puppy that were surrendered from a hoarding situation in Texas. She has more recently adopted a sweet dachshund named Dobby.
Mellanie completed her veterinary assistant program in 2014 at Granville Business college and fell in love with the work instantly. She has a long loving relationship with animals, growing up alongside cats and dogs since the age of one! Her passion is driven by her 4 legged furry friends, Dumbledore and Honey Boo who adore their little sister, Leilana, Mellanie’s young daughter. Mellanie joined the White Rock Veterinary Hospital team in November 2016.
